Producing Tapestry is an opportunity to foster community engagement and understanding.

The workshop series was the second community-facing event in the Tapestries of Transformation program.

The playwriting stage of the Tapestries of Transformation project began after the retreat, laying the foundation for a narrative that resonated with both veterans and civilians.

The veteran’s retreat, entitled Weaving Our Stories: The Path Home, was the first public-facing event of our multifaceted program, setting the stage for meaningful interactions and creative exploration between veterans and the creative team.

To ensure the community was well-informed about the Tapestries of Transformation program, we worked diligently from early November 2023 to develop a comprehensive agenda that aligned with our goals

People are the heart of any creative project, and our creative team is a testament to that belief. Here is a bit about our process; may it help illuminate your recruitment efforts.

When Mil-Tree conceived of Tapestries of Transformation, we already had in mind a grant from California Arts Council and the Inland Empire Community Foundation.

The original idea for Tapestries of Transformation included a multi-day retreat during which veterans, active duty, and community participants would come together to share stories.

Mil-Tree has been successfully bridging the gap between veterans, active duty members, and civilians through artistic endeavors for over a decade.
